Deep Spring

We are about a month away from the Summer Solstice and where I am it is already hitting the mid 90s. The flowers in my garden are still blooming, though many have already cycled to seed or are well on their way. There are loads of bees, snails, birds, and lizards still. My garden is a very active place.

We have an old rusted bench which I keep meaning to freshen up and our old Adirondack chairs had given up the ghost long ago. My husband and I set up our wooden folding chairs a few times, and while nice, it just did not have that same relaxing element. So, we got two new Adirondacks.

I love curling up in these chairs with some ice tea or a glass of wine. Sometimes we just chat, sometimes we read, sometimes I just sit there and watch all the activity in my garden.

Outside activity is getting a little more normalised in my neighbourhood. I still wear my masks for walks and will continue for the foreseeable future. We have seven masks in our household and will be adding about 4-5 more this weekend. For one, it means we can have several in the laundry and still have clean ones to grab. But, I also like having all the choices to match my outfits!

I am very much considering having more meals outside while the evenings are still mild. And, reminding myself to take breaks outside during the day. Vitamin D is so important to mental health. Sunlight and watching nature does so much to lift my spirits.

Cheers,

Tanya
